Another Trip up the Trail

Today is a beautiful day in Northern Minnesota. The sun is shining, there are no clouds in the sky – what could be better? One of the perks of my job is getting out on nice sunny days to look at homes in our rental pool and take photos. Most of our homes are on a lake, so I can’t really complain. Today I went up to see Christine’s Hideaway and Bella Lago. What great cabins! Bella Lago is very cute and has just the right cabin touches to make it a perfect stay. Christine’s Hideaway is so beautiful inside. It has been nicely redone and has a luxurious cabin feel. I did get a chance to sample some of the blueberries at Christine’s Hideaway…it was a nice treat! I did save some for the guests coming this weekend.
After touring both homes I had worked up an appetite so I decided to stop in to Trail Center for some lunch. I always love looking at all the decorations they have in there. The food was great and I made my way back to the office to upload my new photos of these two great homes. Be sure to check them out on our website. You will be pleasantly surprised!-Kris

A Great Pontoon Ride

Last Sunday our family and 2 other couples had the chance to rent a pontoon from Gunflint Pines Resort on Gunflint Lake. I had bid last year on a four hour ride with pizzas and pop at a local silent auction. Fortunately for us, we picked the perfect day. As I have said before, this summer has been pretty chilly up here, but last Sunday was beautiful. The sun was out, very few clouds, the lake was still a bit cold, but it was perfect. The resort set us up with our pizzas which were very tasty, we hopped on the boat and we were off to find some fish and take in the rays. The owner told us of a place to fish so we headed off to find some dinner. Unfortunately we didn’t find any fish, but we did find a great sandy beach. The beach was a nice place to relax and there were the flatest rocks I have ever seen before. They were great for skipping along the water. After some time on the beach, we headed back to find some fish. Again nothing, but it was such a great experience we agreed to come back and do it every year.
Many of us get so ingrained with our daily lives on the shore that we often forget of the great wilderness of the Gunflint Trail. Next time you are on the North Shore, make your way up and check out Gunflint Lake or call to rent the pontoon at Gunflint Pines. It is definitely worth it!-Kris
