About Captain's Canal Park Suite
Captains Canal Park is a beautifully renovated warehouse loft-style suite located in Canal Park in Duluth, Minnesota. The condo is located in the historic former Marshall-Wells building built in 1889 and still, boasts the original massive Douglas Fir beams from the State of Washington, 14-foot exposed brick walls and original steel beams. Enjoy city views from the large windows the provide lots of natural lighting. The S.S. William A. Irvin, a retired Great Lakes freighter, sits in the Minnesota pier next door to Captains Canal Park which you can see out of both bedroom windows.
Captains Canal Park has two spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms. A full, well-equipped kitchen, with top-of-the-line full-sized stainless steel appliances, offers you the perfect place for in-home meals. On the days you don’t feel like heading out, navigate down to the indoor pool, hot tub, wading pool, and fitness center.
Make some fantastic memories when you stay at Captains Canal Park. The condo offers the classic charm of old Canal Park with a high-quality, modern interior.

Accessibility Information
- There are accessible parking spots behind The Suites Hotel and in the surrounding area.
- The Suites Hotel has an accessible back entry with a ramp leading to elevators.
- This is a one-level unit.
- There is hardwood-style tile throughout except for the guest bedroom which has thin carpeting.
- All doorways are wide.
- Living room furniture may need to be moved/rearranged to allow passthrough to the bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Both bedrooms are large enough that at least one side of each bed should be accessible.
- The guest bathroom has a tub with a plastic support bar, no seat.
- The master bedroom has a walk-in shower, no seat.
- Other amenities within the building may not be accessible.

Within walking distance are the world-renowned Aerial Lift Bridge, Maritime Museum, Lakewalk, Park Point, Downtown Duluth, Bayfront Festival Park and Playground, Great Lakes Aquarium, North Shore Scenic Railroad, Amsoil Arena, Duluth Entertainment and Convention Center, movie theater, and many shops, restaurants, and craft breweries.
Captains Canal Park is centrally located for many local events including Grandma's marathon, the North Shore Inline Marathon, Duluth’s Haunted Ship, and the Bentleyville "Tour of Lights".
Duluth is the gateway to the North Shore of Lake Superior with its many parks and trails. A short drive to Spirit Mountain Recreation Area, the University of Minnesota Duluth, the College of St. Scholastica, Lake Superior Zoo, Glensheen Mansion, and the Duluth International Airport.
