Charlie's Haven is a newly constructed home designed for the site featuring large and small windows strategically placed to take advantage of the sun as it rises through the pines and cycles into dusk. Walls are artfully painted to catch the sun's glow, whether shining bright or hiding beneath grey winter skies. Enjoy the play of light as you lounge on the comfy couch or loveseat in the open layout living area featuring a vaulted aspen ceiling and hardwood cherry floors.

Love to cook? The kitchen will inspire you with its marble countertops and state-of-the-art range and refrigerator.

Charlie's Haven is located right across the street from the Gitchi Gami State Bike Trail and a short bike, jog, or walk to downtown Grand Marais.

At the end of the day nestle into the bedroom with its Northwoods furnishings. Sleeping arrangements include a loft (accessed by a standard well-lit staircase) that serves as a sitting or yoga area by day with two futons that fold down to queen-sized beds. The loft windows afford you a year-round view of Lake Superior.

Whether you are looking for a summer vacation getaway or a quiet winter retreat, Charlie's Haven provides easy access to hiking, biking, and cross-country or downhill ski areas. Plus easy access to downtown Grand Marais.

Charlie's Haven is located in the quaint town of Grand Marais. Picture yourself enjoying the outdoors in whatever way you like. Hiking the many area trails including Superior Hiking Trail, biking the Pincushion Mountain trails, and boating our many waterways - canoe or motor, fishing, skiing, birding. Take a class at North House Folk School or the Grand Marais Art Colony. Take a stroll through downtown Grand Marais and hear live music playing from various venues or walk along the harbor and let the Lake Superior waves lap at your feet. The home is located across the street from the Gitchi Gami Trail that connects Grand Marais to Cutface Creek.

Then, come home at night to Charlie's haven where you gather together for quiet comfort. Maybe you'll pop a DVD into the player to amuse the children while you prepare home home-cooked meal in the kitchen or on the grill. Curl up on the couch with a cup of tea or beverage of choice and let the tensions of your everyday life flow out and away. You're on vacation and every day here is a day of renewal.
